Melbourne, Australia – With a vision to “Bridge Understanding and Promote Health,” the 2025 Australia-China Health Industry Expo, the 7th World Traditional Medicine Forum, and the 7th World TCM Service Trade Conference concluded successfully in Melbourne.
Over two days, more than 500 delegates—including government officials, industry leaders, and experts from 19 countries and regions (including Australia, China, the UK, USA, Germany, and Singapore)—gathered across dual venues at Centrepiece and WTC Melbourne. Under the theme “Inheritance, Innovation, Win-Win,” the summit explored vital topics such as the integration of acupuncture and TCM in oncology, depression intervention, and the international trade of authentic medicinal materials.
WTC Melbourne: Closing the Loop from Knowledge to Application As a co-organizer and host venue, WTC Melbourne is committed to creating a complete ecosystem: “Academic Research → Public Education → Industry Application → Clinical/Rehabilitation Scenarios.” This initiative aims to ensure knowledge transcends borders and languages, finding broader applications in public health and industry.
Opening Ceremony: Consensus and Future Vision
Mr. Sun Guozhao, Executive Chairman of the Expo and Executive President of the Oceania Business Association Incorporated (OBAI), delivered the opening address. “Global health is in a critical period of development. Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), with its unique theoretical system, is gaining international recognition for its value in disease prevention and health promotion,” Mr. Sun stated. He highlighted the event’s three core platforms:
- Academic Exchange: Deepening dialogue on traditional medicine theory and practice.
- Trade Promotion: Driving innovation in TCM service trade.
- Industrial Cooperation: Strengthening practical health industry partnerships between Oceania and the world.
He also reflected on the opportunities brought by the China-Australia Free Trade Agreement (ChAFTA) over the past decade and the journey of TCM legalization in Australia over the last 30 years.

Keynote speakers offered global perspectives:
Ms. Gladys Liu (Councillor, City of Melbourne) emphasized the importance of community integration and industrial ecosystems in making health services accessible.
Mr. Ruan Hongxian (Honorary President, China Medical Pharmaceutical Material Association) discussed the opportunities in the global trade of Dao-di (authentic) herbs, advocating for modern technologies—from genomics to blockchain—to ensure quality and traceability.
Mr. Dong Zhilin (President, Pan European Federation of TCM Societies) shared insights on the status of TCM development in Europe.
Mr. George Tamasis (Former President, Pharmacy Guild of Australia) explored the synergy between complementary medicine and the established pharmacy system from a community health perspective.
Government Support: Confidence in Collaboration
At the Gala Dinner, Mr. Fang Xinwen, Consul General of the PRC in Melbourne, congratulated the event’s success, affirming its role in promoting health, TCM, and trade services. He noted the joint statement on health cooperation during the Australian Prime Minister’s visit to China in July 2025, expressing hope for continued supply chain stability.
The Hon. Bruce Atkinson, Former President of the Victorian Legislative Council, also attended to deliver an address.
Premier Jacinta Allan MP sent a congratulatory letter, stating that Victoria is proud to export health and wellness products globally and noting the Expo as an excellent opportunity for Victorian products to enter the Chinese market.

The bustling exhibition hall featured over 50 prominent brands showcasing innovations such as Smart TCM Diagnostic Systems and Smart Pharmacy Solutions, demonstrating the fusion of traditional wisdom with modern logistics and data.
The forum featured 40+ speeches and workshops covering:
Clinical Methodology: Pulse diagnosis in oncology (Wang Wencheng).
International Development: Governance and suggestions (Dong Zhilin).
Standards: Innovation in TCM heritage and trade (Ruan Hongxian).

Community Impact: Expert Free Clinic
One of the most popular sections was the free clinic, where experts including Dr. Wang Wencheng, Dr. Li Kangxiao, Dr. Li Fuyou, and Dr. Ling Danhong provided pulse diagnosis and clinical massage. Dr. Liang Feng demonstrated the contemporary value of acupuncture techniques, bringing professional health services directly to the community.
At WTC: Landing Knowledge into Scenarios
Specialized forums on rehabilitation and health management were held at WTC Melbourne. Experts shared evidence-based protocols for combining acupuncture and herbal medicine for tumor rehabilitation, pain management, and sleep regulation.
